Since we've been here for 2 months, I think I should at least make 1 post talking about work. Granted, I'm off for a few days and am sitting in Geneva, Switzerland as I type this, so work is not my highest priority.
Work is going very well. Aside from the normal challenges that I face in projects, the people I'm working with are great. I'm learning a lot about how the European side or our company works, how the French work in general, and how to work more effectively with people from other cultures. It's a good learning experience. I think this year is going to be very good for me in terms of my overall appreciation of work. I'm having to do a lot more directly with the system than I did in Columbus. I'm still relying heavily on a guy named Teron that is my go to guy. He came to Paris a few weeks ago to spend 10 days covering my butt for the things I couldn't take care of.
I think my travel will pick up a little next month, and it will definitely be more as summer goes on. We're supposed to go live with the project on August 2. We'll see if that holds true. There are a lot of predecessors that have to happen first. I'll just make sure my stuff is ready.
